2008 Seaside Yoga Teacher Training-
200 hour Yoga Alliance Registered
Program
with Emphasis on Therapeutics and
The Art of Teaching Yoga
The Seaside Yoga Teacher
Training program meets and
exceeds current Yoga Alliance
standards for 200 level RYT
accreditation (180 contact
hours). The purpose of this
program is to expose the student
to the path of 8 limbed Yoga
with emphasis in classical yogic
philosophy of Patanjali's Yoga
Sutras, Vedantic Yoga
philosophy, Tantric Yoga
philosophy and Taoist
philosophy. Students will
explore methods of cultivating
their personal practice, and
from that space, experience the
gift of sharing Yoga with
others. Using learning methods
of reading, writing, and
creating, students will tap into
their own resources and learn to
be an independent instructor at
the completion of the 200 hour
intensive. Through the
experience, there will be ample
opportunities to observe and
practice various systems of
Yoga, with emphasis on Anusara
influenced yoga, therapeutic
yoga, and restorative yoga.
Through elective classes and an
independent study project, the
individual student will be able
to cultivate his own style of
teaching. Students meeting all
stated requirements will be
eligible to apply for
registration through the Yoga
Alliance.
It is important to us to uphold the
integrity and quality of our
teaching standards and create a
dynamic and interactive setting to
study Yoga and interact with
teachers and students within the
Seaside Yoga community. Our class
size is limited to 20 students per
teacher training. Each student
enrolled in the Seaside teacher
training program will be assigned a
mentor senior teacher. In addition
to the structured group weekends,
each student will be required to
work with his mentor teacher within
the duration of the program for a
total of 2 hours. Each student will
also receive a 1 and 1/2 hour
private session with the director of
the program.
