Noelle Whittington is a Wilmington,
NC native with a background in
classical dance. Her dance studies
led her to pursue other avenues of
movement, especially those that
helped her escape the rigidity and
precision of Ballet. Through her
dance school she discovered Pilates,
and was hooked.
While in college at NC State
University, Noelle enrolled in her
first Yoga class and found her one
true love. She loved the way that
Yoga made her feel and enjoyed
exploring the movement of her body
without restrictions. Noelle
continued her Yoga classes in New
York city where she lived for 3
years, until she decided to follow
her passion and enrolled in the 200
hour Interdisciplinary Yoga teacher
training at Nosara Yoga Institute in
Costa Rica. After her training,
Noelle traveled throughout Costa
Rica practicing Yoga and surfing for
2 months before moving back to the
states to teach Yoga and Pilates
full-time.
Noelle has trained in Vinyasa Yoga
with Shiva Rea; Ashley Ludman, Lila
Pierce Brown, Sommer and Paul Sobin
in Anusara Yoga, and Kristin Cooper
in Power Vinyasa, as well as various
fitness-based programs. Noelle
recieved her Pilates Mat and
Reformer certifications through
Christi Romani-Ruby of Power House
Institute Pilates, who is based in
physical therapy.
Noelle loves to empower her students
through movement meditations and
encourages them to let go and "dance
like nobody is watching". She is
grateful to be able to travel the
world and to enhance her teaching by
experiencing other cultures, which
reminds her that we share this
precious Earth and to honor
ourselves by treating it well.
