| Michele began her Yoga practice while living in California, during her exploration of transcendental meditation. As a beginning student, she found Yoga classes at a local college, and used her practice as a restful tool while working in a high-stress environment as a Intensive Care Nurse.
She then moved to Louisville, Kentucky and began a meditative style of hatha Yoga with Karen O’Bannon. Moving to Wilmington with her three children and husband, Pat, she continued her practice at local gyms and the Wilmington Yoga Center. As her children grew, she volunteered at various schools, the Arboretum as a Master Gardener, and as a tutor at the Cape Fear Literacy Council. She then began searching for “something else”. Seaside Yoga found her!
After an exciting experience opening the studio in June of 2002, Michele then completed Doug Swenson’s teacher training certification, and went on to complete Seaside Yoga’s 6 month teacher training intensive, graduating in 2003. Michele loves teaching students of all levels, and has gratitude for having the ability to share this amazing practice with others.
