ErinGrowing up a dancer and a gymnast, I felt first hand the calming, energizing and therapeutic effects of movement. It was like instant meditation, quieting the Irish-step dancing monkey in my mind and being my saving grace through some challenging years. I knew I wanted to use this tool to help others so I gained a degree in psychology and began using movement as therapy in the field of mental health. In 2003, I completed a pilates certification and my 200-hour yoga certification at Seaside Yoga. I followed my heart to Boulder, CO to learn from more amazing teachers and submerge myself in nature. I found my path in the Anusara yoga community where I learned how alignment can bring us into our fullest potential. I am so grateful for this, thank you John Friend! The past three years I have followed a calling to use my hands and body for healing with Nuad Boran, known as Thai Massage in the West. I began my study in Thailand and return each year to my teacher, Pichest Boontume who has taught me how to "stop thinking and start feeling." Each session is sacred and intended as an offering to our higher self. Most of my free time is spent in the ocean, creating beautiful food and practicing acroyoga and thai massage with my friends who think I'm crazy, but love me anyway! I am so grateful for this journey. Private Sessions with ErinI have spent most of my life devoted to the art of movement as a pathway to self-awareness, a key ingredient for healing and transformation, and a tool for moving through life's challenges with an open heart. It is my passion to empower individuals to find a daily movement practice inspired by self-love with commitment and consistency. Private sessions can be between one and two hours; we assess short term and long term goals, then start moving! We may dance our brains out to funky music, flow through a therapeutic yoga sequence, build core strength with pilates and focus on deep alignment and inversions with the principals of Anusara yoga. We move into more subtle energy releasing with Thai Yoga, restorative yoga, pranayama and meditation. This is a process based on intuition and rooted in love...it is a co-creative experience and fun! |
