Ashley Ludman
Ashley Ludman, owner and director of Seaside Yoga, brings her passion of yoga to all levels of students within the studio and the community of Wilmington. Graduating with honors from East Carolina University in 1995, Ashley began her career in Occupational Therapy, working in all areas of rehabilitation. After pursuing graduate work in Occupational Therapy, she then established her first wellness consulting firm, Life In Balance, Inc. It was through an initial woman’s wellness series where she and her future business partner, Michele Martin, planted the seeds of Seaside Yoga.

Ashley was a founding member of the Wilmington Yoga Center teaching cooperative, which was the first group of its kind, dedicated to bringing yoga and complementary teachings to the Wilmington community. It was after September 11, 2001 that Ashley woke up and began to cultivate her intentions of establishing a yoga community dedicated to healing and transformation. With the help of Michele, Amy Sulva and Jimbo Fox, Seaside Yoga was born in 2002.

Along the way, Ashley has dedicated the past few years to her study and teaching of Anusara Yoga, after inspiration from John Friend, Todd Norian and Lila Pierce Brown. She has completed over 500 hours of advanced study in Anusara Yoga, and was one of 50 teachers chosen to study Advanced Therapeutics with John Friend in 2007.

Ashley’s individual transformation has evolved through her study of energetics and subtle body anatomy, which takes her on an ever-expanding journey inward. Her personal work shines through in the delivery of her classes, where she teaches from her practice and experience of diverse study.

In addition to directing Seaside Yoga’s Teacher Training programs in Wilmington and Fayetteville, Ashley maintains a full clientele of private clients, specializing in therapeutic applications of Yoga. She is a weekly volunteer and teacher to the Grandparents Support Network, which serves over 30 families in the local community.

Her creative core gets a workout from various projects, such as her upcoming CD of Chakra Yoga with Chuck Wood and Colin Allured. An aspiring writer, she is having lots of fun with her contemplative blog, www.yogash.wordpress.com. A fun-loving explorer, she looks forward to the next step of the journey, while enjoying life here in the present.
